Step by Step What to Expect
Planning a wedding is overflowing with decisions and details! Drop a note requesting your free Wedding Guide to all the details you want to consider as you select your wedding photographer. This guide also details what you can expect from me along with a timeline of the precess and preparation to capture the best images of your special day. This little resource compiles all the stuff I wish I had known as a Bride-to-Be and will make your planning much smoother!
Let’s chat face to face (or at least phone to phone!). You’ve poured over wedding photographers, their galleries, their options and investment costs, but an actual meeting with your photographer is crucial to ensure we both are a good fit for this special day of yours! On this day we will discuss everything from how he popped the question, to your dress and the cake topper, to your concerns about
The most ideal way to get to know your wedding photographer is via engagement portraits. If you book your engagement session with me and then decide to book your wedding with me as well, I have a special gift for you!
Between 8-6 weeks out from your big day, we’ll start nailing down all the details to ensure we are totally prepared for your big day! This is one of the most important steps to planning a wedding because it ensures we capture the beautiful memories you’ve been dreaming about! When we sit down to create the custom timeline for your wedding what we are doing is making it possible to get those “magazine shots” that take your breath away. Weddings are brimming over with beauty. But often times, they are some of the most busy, intense days of our lives, so those perfect photographs generally don’t come without some planning and intentionality. In this step, we go over all the bits and pieces to craft your wedding day with plenty of golden photography moments.
This step is my favorite because this is where we both get to share our creativity and vision to make magic! This is the time I get to hear your heart and imagine your vision.
Booking your wedding involves a 40% non-refundable retaining fee. There’s some legal papers that protect us both with this step. Along with the booking paperwork details, I have a number of questions for you!
Depending on your preferences, I will send you hard copy or digital forms to be completed with a timeline for the scheduled wedding photography, portrait arrangements (who all you want in each portrait), the special details (Was this his grandmother’s ring? Are you wearing a tiara from your mother? Did you painstakingly assemble table centerpieces with the ladies in your family? All the precious pieces need to be noted). All these bits and pieces are the heartbeat of wedding photography.
I will be available to you over the next months as you need me for questions.
Coming up to your wedding (if we haven’t been in touch for engagement session or other product preparation) I will be in touch with you. I would like to schedule a time to see the venue if possible and touch base with you.
The day of your wedding I will have a second photographer with me. Usually this is my awesome sister. Everyone loves her and I know you will too! Together, using your perfectly planned wedding timeline, we will capture all the love, hope, hard work, and planning you have poured into this day!
Final payment is due the day of the wedding, however, if it is simpler for you, this can be settled before the wedding day itself.
A sneak peek of your wedding photographs will be provided within days of your wedding. You can easily share these images with family and friends.
Depending on the package of your choice, your wedding photos and products will be delivered within four to eight weeks. If you have selected one of the more basic packages, delivery will be via an online gallery that you download images from for yourself. For other options that include physical product, delivery is generally in person, although under special circumstances, it is possible to mail your items.
